Configure the catalog

The catalog decides which products appear as rows on your quick-order form. Two levers: include collections (or tags), then exclude anything that shouldn't be there.

How the catalog is built

QuickOrder starts from what you include, removes what you exclude, and shows the result as table rows — one row per variant, with SKU, price and a quantity field. In the QuickOrder admin, open Catalog:

  1. Include by collection — pick one or more collections with the resource picker. This is the recommended way: your collections already reflect how you organize your range.
  2. Include by tag — alternatively (or additionally), include every product carrying a tag, e.g. wholesale. Useful when your B2B range cuts across collections.
  3. Exclude by tag — remove specific products from the form even if a collection includes them, e.g. tag no-bulk on samples, display units, or retail-only bundles.

Exclusions always win. If a product is both included (via a collection or tag) and excluded (via a tag), it does not appear on the form. This makes exclusion tags a safe kill-switch for individual products.

What appears on the form

  • Only products available to the Online Store channel. The table is rendered from your storefront, so a product that isn't published to the Online Store can't appear. See troubleshooting if a product is missing.
  • Variants become rows. A product with 4 sizes shows 4 order lines, each with its own SKU and price, grouped under the product name.
  • Prices are live Liquid prices. Whatever price Shopify would show that visitor is what the table shows — including negotiated B2B catalog prices for logged-in company buyers on Shopify Plus.

Product limits by plan

PlanPagesProducts
Free1Up to 20 products
Growth1Unlimited (up to 250 rendered per page)
ProOne per collectionUnlimited (up to 250 per page, 50 per collection on multi-collection pages)

The 250-products-per-page ceiling is a rendering limit: a single page that tried to render thousands of rows would be slow for your buyers. If your range is bigger, split it into several pages by collection (Pro) — buyers get a faster page per brand or category, and each page has its own shareable URL.

Publish your changes

Catalog changes take effect when you click Publish in the QuickOrder admin. Publishing rebuilds the configuration your storefront reads — it's instant, and it's also why the storefront makes zero calls to our servers: everything the table needs ships with your page.

Table empty on the storefront? The #1 cause is a saved-but-never-published configuration. Save, then hit Publish, then refresh the page.

Practical recipes

  • Wholesale-only range: create a Wholesale collection (manual or automated on a tag), include it, done.
  • Everything except fragile items: include your main collections, tag fragile products no-bulk, exclude that tag.
  • One page per brand (Pro): create one quick-order page per brand collection — /pages/quick-order-acme, /pages/quick-order-globex — and share each URL with the right buyers.

Next step: set quantity rules — minimums, maximums and case-pack increments.
